Description

SAIC has an immediate need for a Senior C++ Software Engineer to support Flight Mission Simulator Digital (FMS/D) Program. 

 

The FMS/D is a Real Time, Hardware-in-the- Loop (HWIL), digital, medium-fidelity simulation, encompassing hardware, and software components

    • Emulates functionality of PATRIOT Radar, Launchers, and Missiles
    • Provides simulated air picture to Engagement Control Station (ECS) console operators
    • FMS/D allows PATRIOT battery operators to participate in Distributed Interactive Simulation exercises and war games
    • Through the use of FMS/D, the ECS operator cannot distinguish between simulation and reality.  From this concept, our motto is derived, “Train as You Fight.”

Qualifications

 Requirements:

  • BS degree and 9+ years of related experience
  • Senior level C/C++ software developer
  • Experience developing on Linux, for Linux using Make and gcc/g++ compilers
  • Experience using git revision control system
  • Active, or able to obtain Secret clearance
  • Experience with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) based simulations
  • Experience with GTK-2 based applications
  • Ability to document software functionality   

Desirable:

  • Experience writing RPM spec files
  • Experience with hardware in the loop simulations  

Other relevant program information:

  • Would be working on an established application set in Maintenance and Sustainment mode
  • Some new development, but limited.  Surges required for platform, OS revision rehosting.
  • We utilize a traditional development cycle
  • DevOps principals and techniques are NOT currently in place (automated unit test, automatic build / deployment, continuous integration, etc.)  No time line for doing so.
  • Would be primarily modifying existing code.  New code development limited to adding functionality as requested by customers.
