Air & Missile Defense Systems (AMDS) Product Line has an immediate opening for a Finance Manager for the Redesigned Kill Vehicle (RKV) Program. The RKV program represents one of the highest priorities of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) conducted a Best of Breed effort to strategically select system components from Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing. This approach has led to a unique and collaborative industry development team where Raytheon plays a major role as the payload integrator. Raytheon Missile Systems acts as a subcontractor to the prime contractor, Boeing, for its efforts as part of the overall GMD program.
With the balance of the +$500M development contract being definitized soon and the initial production of 20 KVs and associated efforts/equipment on an accelerated path to award (~$400M), the program will have a significant amount of backlog of both development and production work to complete over the next 6 years. These efforts will all be subject to full earned value management to Prime Contractor Boeing, and tight scope control on the part of Raytheon. A competition for the future AUR lots is expected to be competed, which will require the involvement of the finance manager in the areas of capture shaping, teaming, and win strategy.
A key requirement for this position is the ability to provide strategic financial leadership for the program in areas such as cost management, program execution, and new business capture. An in-depth working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) concepts, procedures and processes, including baseline planning and Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) preparation and execution is also required. Responsibilities of the RKV Business Manager include the coordination and preparation of the Program’s Five Year and Annual Operating Plans, quarterly Estimate at Completion/Return on Net Assets (EAC/RONA) presentations, monthly financial forecasts, monthly financial status and variance analysis reporting to Boeing and AMDS Product Line leadership, and capture activity support. The role requires extensive interface with the prime customer, Boeing, to assure sound business constructs exist between the parties and financial reporting/actions are worked seamlessly between ourselves and Boeing.
The RKV Finance team consists of 4 direct reporting analysts from various skill levels and stages in their careers that work together to support all aspects of the program’s business management needs.
Interested candidates must have prior Finance Management experience along with a proficiency in Finance reporting systems and processes. The successful candidate will have the ability to work relatively independently, be self-motivated, and comfortable with new challenges. Good communication skills are also required, along with the ability to effectively interact with multiple layers within the organization, and to make recommendations for appropriate solutions. Ability to develop effective and respectful partnerships with the RKV Program Office, Contracts, Supply Chain, and customer are critical for success in this position.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
