Job Description:

Raytheon Applied Signal Technology has a need for a Software Engineering Intern to help design, build, test, and maintain software for advanced high-capacity systems that process modern high-speed communications for the U.S. intelligence community.

The successful candidate will work with system engineers and software developers in our Sunnyvale, CA, office to apply cutting edge technology to engineer products for the protection of our country. The successful candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with C, C++ , Java, or Python
  • Exposure to data structures, object-oriented principles, and algorithms
  • Must be a college Freshman or Sophomore level by Fall 2019
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Qt or other application frameworks
  • Experience with web development using Javascript (Node.js, D3.js), HTML5, and CSS
  • Experience and/or coursework in Databases, Networks, Machine Learning, Algorithms
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux and related utilities
  • Knowledge of network and communication protocols
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education (including major): Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from a four-year university and entering as a college Freshman or Sophomore by Fall 2019. Must be working towards a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering Major, or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
