Job Summary
The Graphic Design Mgr Sr conceptualizes and produces high quality graphic materials for internal and external executive briefings, trade shows, and other marketing/communications deliverables to the Board, customers and key stakeholders. Collaborates with leaders to provide solutions for marketing and communication issues.  Responsible for company internet and other multi-media communications to include oversight of company branding and style guide development.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Manages graphic design support services including word processing, page layouts, photos, the creation of charts and graphics, communications and other creative print media, proofreading, print production schedules and print specifications.
  • Overseas the design, layout and assembly of materials for briefings given by DI executives.
  • Oversees production of graphic materials for trade shows and key customer meetings or conferences.
  • Oversees development of company branding and style guides.
  • Manages the corporate internet and social media pages. Gives input into web design and navigation. Formulates the best search engine optimization and search engine marketing practices to drive traffic to the corporate website and position the brand in the marketplace. Tracks key operational metrics including traffic and web page performance.
  • Researches and provides current industry trends in graphic design, consistency, and branding among proposal graphic elements.
  • Executes graphic design projects and coordinates all graphic production scheduling.
  • Creates and maintains hardware and software evaluations to support department computer requirements.
  • Completes assignments from conceptualization and design to production for specific graphic-design materials.
  • Originates design, art and copy layouts.
  • Determines style, size and arrangement of type and illustrations.
  • Provides instructions or directly assembles and prepares final layouts for printer.
  • Trains other personnel in proper use of computer graphic equipment. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office programs, websites and related marketing/communications technologies, and social media applications.
  • Expert knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of graphic arts/design.
  • Advanced / expert level experience with Adobe Illustrator and other Adobe graphics software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Proactive work ethic with great organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to delegate work according to the priority needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, strong project management skills and should be ready to work in cross functional teams.
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing and website development that includes computer hardware and software requirements.
  • Knowledge of budget and cost formulation.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area.  Two (2) years’ experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years college.  
  • Twelve (12) years of progressive experience in communications, publications, public relations or related area.
  • Prefer at least three (3) years of management experience.
  • Experience with video and digital media.
  • Experience with Sharepoint.
  • USA Federal Government or USA military experience preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Works in a normal office environment.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, often with short notice, to meet deadlines. Extended hours may include late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrate ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of high-quality material with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically.
