The Systems Test Directorate at RMS is seeking candidates for the Integration & Verification Center to perform in the role of test engineer for our AWS programs. Our I&V engineers integrate the hardware and software elements of our developmental products and then test them to ensure they meet requirements and provide capabilities which are critical to the success of the warfighters in our military and those of our allies. This work will include duties as an Electronic/Flight Test Tech Support Engineer located Tucson, AZ. This Flight Test Tech Support Engineer position will be primarily involved with the AMRAAM® missile and HARM Targeting System programs which are multi-platform and multi-service weapon program’s reporting to either the IVC AMRAAM Field/Test Support. Responsibilities include hardware integration activities, flight test planning, execution, and data review.
Additional responsibilities include hardware build and testing, flight line missile preparation and will include captive carry testing. Extensive use of COMSEC equipment, AIS computers, and telemetry equipment is required for the position. The candidates will support test system maintenance and operation as well as hardware/software integration, and developmental testing tasks both in a lab and a field environment. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to modifying existing procedures to adapt to new test environments/requirements, contribute to the build, integration, and test activities associated with an end item, maintain accountability of hardware/software configurations and ensure completeness of all documentation. The selected candidate needs to be comfortable maintaining and reconfiguring munitions, monitoring weapon telemetry in a control room environment, performing flight line operations and communicating directly with both internal and external customers on a daily basis.



Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate must be able to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Work will be performed under only general direction and the selected candidates must be able to independently determine and develop solutions. This is a demanding, hands-on, lab and direct flight test support position. Personnel must be willing to work non-standard and extended hours under potentially extreme conditions.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • A minimum of six (6) years related professional experience. Electronic, computer and mechanical skills required
  • The candidate should possess basic engineering skills, familiarity with laboratory test equipment, electronics and software.
  • Experience maintaining configuration control of products and drawings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of telemetry software and associated hardware
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge Windows based PCs, software and peripheral hardware
  • Experience troubleshooting varied electronic equipment
  • Knowledge of Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment and Classified computer security requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of six (6) years of prior relevant experience

DoD Security Clearance:
