Under customer supervision, provides technical support, as part of a world-wide deployable antenna team, for various ground station sites and projects.
Performs electronic, electrical and mechanical assessments, alignments fault corrections and inspections on satellite antenna structural elements, mechanical positioning, and RF subsystems, including associated support systems.
Participates as part of a team to perform installations, removals, upgrades and repairs of entire antenna systems.
Participates in planning and execution of the work of the antenna team and coordinates related resource procurement activities.
Tasking includes the following:
Installation, maintenance, testing, evaluation and operation of antenna systems.
Installs, maintains and upgrades electronic components, equipment or systems for operational or testing applications.
Participates in the planning, scheduling, and implementation of deployment activities.
Provides technical support and instruction to staff and customers regarding equipment operation and maintenance. Helps solve specific, in-service engineering problems.
Inspects electronic equipment, instruments, products, and systems to ensure conformance to specifications, safety standards, and quality standards.
Analyzes systemic failure data and trends to determine causes of problems and develops solutions. Recommends repair or design modifications based on factors such as environment, service, cost, and system capabilities.
Develops technical documentation and procedures for installation, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment. Documentation is written in accordance with technical specifications, program requirements and quality standards.
Assignments are complex in nature, and assignments require integrating a broad range of inputs into job performance; includes supervisor inputs, coordination with other teams, task and project requirements and a range of multi-discipline considerations.
The candidate serves as the customer interface for technical, operational, and administrative information and for resolving technical issues.
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, or related field,
or military technical training program,
or completion of technical institute program and 4 years of related experience.
Must have a DOD Secret clearance on first day of work and be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL Driver certification.
Travel: 50% of the year, including international travel. Due to the travel requirement, candidates are not required to work in La Plata, MD daily, but should reside in the surrounding MD/VA/DC area.
