The Senior GNC Engineer is responsible for designing and integrating missile guidance, data filtering, and missile performance optimization, and is a position for GNC engineers with experience in some combination of the following: guidance law development, state estimation, Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, trajectory shaping, weapon system integration, path planning, miss distance performance optimization, kinematic and system trade studies, algorithm optimization, and Monte Carlo assessments with expected system disturbances.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment

Required Skills and Education:

  • Minimum Degree: B.S in the following majors: Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
  • Eight (8) years of professional experience in aerospace, missile development, guidance design, estimation, or related technical fields with a BS degree (6 years with a MS and 4 years with a Ph.D.)
  • Eight (8) years of experience in the development and employment of modeling and simulation tools, particularly six degree of freedom simulations.
  • Eight (8) years of experience developing or modifying code in higher level languages like Fortran, Ada, C++, and MATLAB
  • Prior work experience managing an engineering team
  • Familiarity with embedded software development and hardware/software integration

Security Clearance Requirement:
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD issued Secret Security clearance

Desired Skills:
  • MS or higher in aforementioned disciplines
  • Experience assessing GNC system integration risks through test data analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines.
  • Experience leading a GNC focused development team
