Reporting to the Senior Manager of Supply Chain, the Buyer is a critical link in the supply chain that primarily manages the performance of assigned suppliers. The Buyer is responsible for ensuring materials and services are available to meet operational requirements and is constantly striving to improve quality, cost and schedule of all purchased items. The ideal candidate will have proven experience negotiating agreements with suppliers. Although not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates that have experience with MRP implementation/enhancement and process documentation, Make/Buy and Strategic Supply Chain initiatives such as Supplier Development and Relationship Management.
Job Duties and Requirements:
Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Must have a good working knowledge of MS-Office products.
Required to have strong negotiation, problem-solving & decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Post-Secondary education in Business Administration would be an asset.
Purchasing certification preferred (CSCMP or similar).
MRP Experience is preferred

Demonstrating an acceptable standard of personal behavior in the work place.

Ability to multi- task and work in a fast-paced environment with a large # of RFQ’s and PO’s in process simultaneously.
Working with and coordinating the activities of persons over whom the incumbent may have no direct authority, attention and energy focused on bringing various activities together to meet timetable(s).
Demonstrating self-motivation, effective performance, self-driven from within rather than being conditional on pressure from external factors (e.g. boss, peers, subordinates, deadlines, crises, etc.).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
