Job Description:

Reporting to the head of FP&A, this position will have primary responsibility for oversight of the financial planning and analysis and rates and budgets functions. This position will be responsible for IDS AOP, and the annual and 5 –year strategic financial planning outlook. Oversee Rates & Budgets function, which develops IDS’s annual FPRP, provides budget support to all G&A functions, compiles and tracks performance against budgets and rates and negotiates billing rates with local DACO. Develops opportunities that leverage rate and budget structures to increase IDS top line volume and overall competitiveness. Continuously balance the demand of the business with the requirement to comply with Government accounting rules.


  • Provide management with actionable insight through proactive, thorough analysis and recommendations, driving business results to maximum value. Provide key recommendations to senior management based on analysis which drives value
  • Leadership of the financial management operating system; Consistent Leadership updates of the Financial Outlook, Financial forecasting process (alignment with EAC/EV processes)
  • Identify key data/metrics and benchmark against others and best practices to support management
  • Help identify problems early and develop corrective action plans
  • Identify risks, opportunities and implementation plans
  • Working with the Corporate FP&A organization to provide analysis support
  • Managing the organizational talent through management development plans and succession plans; partnering with other Finance leaders to identify and develop future leaders; drive rotations across finance to build bench strength across the organization.
Required Skills:
  • A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent. Degree in business, finance, economics or other related field.
  • 14+ years of related professional experience
  • Financial Planning & Analysis experience in a Defense or Aerospace industry
  • 3+ years management experience
Desired Skills:
  • Proven ability to present complex financial data to senior leadership in a clear, concise manner
  • Experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and federal government contracts and contracting requirements
  • Experience extracting data and running reports in SAP
  • Ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial executive w/ proven experience creating strategic financial projections and high level actionable analysis.
  • Strong understanding and capable of working within a highly matrixed organization
  • Ability to work cross collaboratively with multiple departments
  • Ability to lead and inspire team to attain a high level of achievement
  • Public Accounting experience with a CPA, Audit preferred
  • MBA
  • Comfortable in a highly visible position with direct access to senior leadership
