SAIC is looking to hire a Systems Administrator to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Rhode Island.
Candidates will be primarily responsible for supporting technical troubleshooting for the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Service (CANES) network that is maintained in the US Navy Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) laboratories. Based on commercial-off-the-shelf products and an open architecture, CANES is designed to replace and consolidate the functions of five separate legacy command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence systems into a single integrated software-based platform.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide break/fix and installation IT support in a fast paced, high energy environment.
Candidate will interface with US DoD customers regarding the proper approach to maintaining US Navy Afloat networks and the associated network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities.
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of computer hardware and software; applications performance and integration with the LAN
Provide support to image, build and configure workstations and server against a provide baseline
Test and performance balance workstations and servers, ensure applications operate IAW requirements and operating parameters provided by the program office
Create test procedures documents to provide as evidence that assets perform to standards and requirements to meet the mission
Be able to utilize Virtual Machine technology to duplicate and create multiple environments for testing and analyzing assets
Build and maintain a working LAN for support of testing, developing and optimizing a mission based system
Serve as system administrator to implement vulnerability patching and configuring of assets to DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS)
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience; OR, High School equivalent and 6+ years of experience.
Security + CE (IAT Level II) certification is required.
An active Top Secret clearance is preferred but an active Secret clearance is required.
Must have experience with Virtual Machines Server & Clients - Hypervisor software.
Must have at least one year of direct technical experience.
Must have experience with LAN Management Enterprise E-mail and Web applications.
Must be able to work with Application Loading/Installing and tailoring of Software OS and Application Testing, including test documentation and actual testing knowledge of cyber / IA STIGs
