The position will provide launch system integration support to the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) and 30th (VAFB) and 45th (CCAFS) Operations Groups (OG) to ensure safe and secure launch integration
processes, procedures and activities.

  • The Project Integration Engineer will primarily perform mission integration of SV to LV, supporting the Government Mission Integration Manager in executing the mission.
  • Other duties include managing/supporting launch interface requirement changes, launch schedule, launch site operations, and mission assurance process in support of readiness reviews to AF leadership.
  • Will also perform early mission integration studies; support developing inputs for Requests For Proposals (RFPs and Performance Work Statements (PWS); and evaluate proposals from Launch Service Providers.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering, Space Systems, Science or Management is required, and preferably, a Master of Science (MS) Degree.
  • An additional two years of related experience for the specific skill can be substituted for the MS.
  • Minimum 10 years of directly related management and technical experience in launch integration with emphasis in spacecraft or launch vehicle processing.
  • Candidate must possess extensive knowledge of space and launch systems, including safety and environmental factors, launch maintenance processes and policies, quality control, launch and range operations, space and launch vehicle resource, program management and SMC mission assurance practice and policy.
  • Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Top Secret, Special Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) Clearance highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong background in launch vehicle concepts is highly desired.
  • Experience with Senior level Air Force leadership in a Program Office environment.
  • Experience working with the Space and Missile Center (SMC).
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Space Systems, Science or Management.
  • Work as an integral team member of the SE&I team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial business applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
