NAVAL SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN
This position provides technical support for Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) by providing the system and equipment expertise to aid in troubleshooting, assessment analysis, inspection, root cause localization and identification, test, certification, maintenance training, logistics configuration support, alteration development, and long-term problem resolution related to naval satellite communications equipment.
The position includes performing tasks on board USN ships. Approximately 40% of the work is performed in an office environment and 60% in a shipboard environment which includes working aloft or in confined or secure spaces.
Within the last ten years, must have both: a minimum of six (6) years full-time hands-on technical experience in
the maintenance, installation, test, or repair of Super High Frequency (SHF) Satellite Communications Equipment,
Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Satellite Communications Equipment and AN/SRQ-4 Radio Terminal Set; and a
minimum of four (4) years full-time technician experience leading maintenance, installation, test, or repair of Super
High Frequency (SHF) Satellite Communications Equipment, Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Satellite
Communications Equipment and AN/SRQ-4 Radio Terminal Set.
3) A working knowledge of Maintenance and Material Management (3M).

Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
