Primary responsibilities include engineering, installing and troubleshooting data and telecommunications network infrastructure for client’s customers. Additional requirements include creating and updating network documentation, network assessments and reporting results. This position will work closely with other members of the clients internetworking team to support the overall mission of the company and its' strategic business initiatives.
Demonstrate knowledge and experience in configuration, implementation, and maintenance of voice, data, and/or network communications systems.
Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner
Demonstrate good working knowledge of telecommunications industry as well as voice system design and engineering
Demonstrate ability to understand and apply technical concepts and ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools.
Demonstrate knowledge and experience of basic understanding of infrastructure wiring/ connectivity
Knowledge in design and software support for IP, VoIP, PBX, voice mail, voice networks, and video systems
Bachelor's degree with a major in a field that provides knowledge useful for managing IT requirements similar to those of the Task Order requirements
Knowledge of DOD network and system security requirements.
Demonstrated experience in a DOD Information Technology environment
Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor, maintain and administer the health of the corporate wide network infrastructure
Maintain and administer network infrastructure standards, documentation and fault tolerance
Monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting
Monitor and troubleshooting Call Center System (ACD)
Document logical and physical network design changes
Follow ITIL based process and procedures and escalate for technical assistance
Advise and make recommendations to management concerning infrastructure and related LAN issues
Validate and coordinate all scheduled maintenance on Transport Systems
Understand client's operational and sustainment methodologies and processes
Gain familiarity with the client's current data center infrastructure
Work with ITA and GDIT SDMs to ensure "other" services are available on time
Work customer Remedy Incident Tickets. Interface with customers to resolve telephony issues
Provision or change directory numbers for new and existing customers.
Design /maintain documentation related to work flow
Required Skills and Experience:
Active Secret Security Clearance
5-8 years of directly related experience in network administration and support
3 years of related voice system experience
Current Security+ CE certification
Current System Certification from Telephony Vendor or Cisco CCNA or Juniper JNCIA
Candidate must have knowledge and/or experience with:
Current NOC operations
Proficient in administering VoIP
Switching protocols Spanning Tree, VTP, port grouping
Layer networking (MPLS, etc)
