The primary purpose of this position is to assist
the KBRwyle Aerospace Physiologists and Aerospace Psychologists with on-going research projects, analyzing results, and investigating the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential life support inventions, products and problems. The job also requires working with a team of experts whose primary role is to maintain and operate human-use centrifuge and high-altitude research chambers.
Position will require exposure to low atmospheric pressure inside a hypobaric (altitude) chamber.
Physiological and job training will be provided by KBRwyle if required.
May require working evenings and weekends; may involve working with bio-hazardous materials.
Responsibilities will include:
Assist with physiological consultation and training services.
RDT&E responsibilities include skilled application of experimental design and statistics, selection of appropriate assessment procedures.
Monitor and measure test subject response to training, nutrition and supplementation protocols to draw conclusions about human performance.
Participates in the processing and interpretation of experimental and test data.
Participates as a hypobaric chamber inside observer in support of RDT&E efforts.
Coordinates with other technical and professional staff.
Prepares written reports acceptable for publication in scientific journals and presents research at scientific conferences as appropriate.
Provides collaborative assistance to scientists as required.
MS in Physiology or related life sciences degree.
Good writing and speaking skills.
Possess basic computer skills, be familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to level of independent work.
Be able to pass a medical examination for exposure to low atmospheric pressure environment inside a hypobaric (altitude) chamber.
Knowledge/experience in aerospace physiology, human factors, aviation life support equipment and/or test and evaluation procedures.
Knowledge and/or experience with human-use research.
Two Years of practical and/or teaching experience in physiology.
