The Laboratory Manager manages lab is responsible for laboratory activity on daily basis. Performs quality and verifiable tests. Maintain necessary documentation on tests, procedures, and equipment. Interface with the Corporate Technical Team. Performs vendor audits and reports results and action items to Engineering Managers and Directors.
Manages lab activity on daily basis.
Performs advanced complex quality control testing of well stimulation and cementing fluid systems.
Performs the additive selection and design of advanced stimulation and cementing fluids according to API Standards and Specifications.
Evaluate equipment needs and propose equipment needs for new labs.
Supervise Lab Technicians.
Responsible for the disposal of laboratory waste accordingly to properly conducted methods.
Documents and reports laboratory data related to field testing of new technology.
Develop and share best practices and technical procedures.
Provide expertise on all stimulation and cement fluids pumped in the general area.
Attends periodical safety and operations improvement meetings and participates in the location quality improvement meetings and location quality improvement plans.
Responsible for managing key point card with other lab managers.
Interfaces with Research and Technology executing new products to the field
Field assignments and visits are required.
Manages and updates spill control, chemical release and evacuation plans according to regional C&J QHSE, public responders and city local regulations.
Tracks and maintains spare parts, within allocated budget time frame allotted.
Facilitates and assists in QHSE investigations.

Strong Quality Management skills, applicable to Lab Safety Operation Improvement to include monthly lab audits, sample storage and organization, proper QHSE disposal practices.
Interface with Bulk Plant to ensure LOT numbers between pilot and field blends, blending consistency, sampling consistency and shared reporting to Engineering Management.
Manage and track all samples required to C&J rac and cement procedures.
Ensures compliance to all C&J policy procedures and standards.
Communicates clearly and concisely to send and receive information.

Required Experience and Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor of Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Geology, or Analytical Chemistry, Engineering preferred
Advanced operational and technical understanding of Hydraulic Fracturing, Cementing.
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in similar role.
Education in scientific discipline may be considered in lieu of experience.
