Job Description:
The Advanced Electro-Optical and Mission Systems (AEO&MS) Department is currently in need for a Systems Integration and Test Engineer to support the development and build of advanced electro-optical systems. The systems engineer will be part of a team building electro-optical systems including imagers, passive/active EO tracking, ladar, and directed energy systems. The systems engineer will be responsible for assessing systems performance, developing test requirements, writing test procedures, and supporting the design, build, and test efforts. The role involves being able to design tests and run tests that characterize the system and analyze impacts to performance parameters such as geolocation/LOS, spatial resolution, Wave Front Error (WFE), beam quality, and spectral response. The role also involves familiarity of verification and test activities and to assist in system performance experiments in the lab and in the field.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years of systems engineering and/or integration and test experience
  • Experience with Electro-Optical system assembly, integration, and test
  • Experience with test analysis, and simulation and modeling of EO systems
  • Willingness to travel periodically in support of offsite testing along with customer and subcontractor meetings
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong collaboration / teaming skills
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance, with a recent (<= 6 years) investigation
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with successful integration, laboratory test, platform installation, and test demonstration of a laser/ladar system, subsystems or major components
  • Experience analyzing sensor requirements for development of qualification test plans.
  • Experience with EO/IR laboratory and factory test systems development.
  • Airborne EO/IR systems development and test experience.
  • Experience with navigation systems and GPS
  • Software experience C++ and Matlab

Required Education:
  • B.S. in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Physics or other related field

Desired Education:
  • M.S. in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Physics or other related field


This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.

U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems.
