Job Purpose

To be responsible for supporting the business in delivering initiatives to time, cost and quality while challenging the prioritization of initiatives and ensuring financial benefits are realized. To support the wider function and areas of business responsible for, in delivering projects and initiatives to deliver future value.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepares accurate and timely monthly financial reports for TGEP operating companies
  • Prepares forecasts, budgets, and KPIs to increase financial profitability, maximize profits and achieve growth
  • Assists in the development of short and long-term business plan by collecting and assessing stakeholder data
  • Provides performance modelling to support planning and budgeting scenario analyses
  • Provides financial analysis and general business support to TGEP functional teams
  • Supports ad hoc requests and tasks as needed
  • Supports initiatives and special projects as needed
  • Applies US GAAP, IFRS, FERC, SOX and SEC requirements to budgeting and planning activities
  • Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements

Qualifications – Required

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Strong Excel skills including data mining capabilities
  • Minimum of 3 years in finance roles demonstrating business partnering responsibilities
  • Experience in financial management and organizational budget planning
  • Demonstrated ability to create financial models and long-term forecasts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of finance systems and business process
  • Ability to work across department and geographic boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities through effective planning and execution skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills

 Qualifications – A Plus (but not required)

  • CFA
  • CPA
  • CGMA
  • Knowledge of utility Finance practices
  • Experience in energy, utility, generation or related industries
