This is a temporary position for an undetermined length.

Job Description: Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services is currently seeking a Jr. Technical Writer/Editor to develop technical documentation in XML and SGML to support and maintaining Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM). You will be expected to prepare structured documentation aligned with customer provided standards, participate in weekly customer reviews, conduct validations and verifications, and be willing to travel (10%) in compliance with OSHA and Raytheon safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to understand drawings and technical documentation.
  • Ability to write about technical systems and read schematics for the purpose executing verification of plans based on associated technical requirements and using computer language. Quick learner and self-learner.
  • Strong team player and work well in a team environment.
  • Strong English communication skills, and, in particular, strong writing skills. Strong computer skills and courses taken in computer programming.
Desired Skills:
  • IETM development and maintenance with specification S1000D and/or MIL-STD-40051. Experience coding XML and designing test procedures for validating XML constructs. IETM development and maintenance.
  • Computer programming background. Network management background. Strong background in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word
Minimum Education Required:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
