The GBS Communications, Learning and Change Management team is looking for an experienced digital, meeting and events specialist with 6+ years of experience in planning internal (or external) events with a deep knowledge of content management and html language. This position requires cross-business collaboration with an eye for details and process management. Additionally, this position leads the GBS and IT industry awards and internal recognition programs.
The ideal candidate for this role will be confident, experienced, and highly skilled in coordinating multiple efforts; Possessing excellent organizational, interpersonal and service excellence skills. Some travel is required with occasional work required evenings and weekends as needed during high peak periods.
The core responsibilities of the position include:

  • Supporting the development and update of the internal GBS web presence to drive awareness and understanding of what GBS is all about
  • Helping to ensure content (images, infographics, videos, etc.) is developed within brand and business strategy
  • Helping to collect and analyze metrics to provide data-driven recommendations
  • Serving as the lead for industry external awards and internal recognition programs
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to identify relevant industry awards and internal recognition programs
  • Establishing processes to document and catalogue award submissions to have a history and understanding of what has been done
  • Helping with the planning and execution of all organized meetings and events, including – but not limited to – catering, audiovisual equipment, conference room floor plan, show flows, invitations, registration, rooming list, and giveaways
  • Generating surveys and after-action reports that provide cost summaries, results and lessons learned
  • Communicating effectively and in a timely manner with an array of individuals and organizations
  • Ensuring compliance with all company-wide policies and practices; and remaining current on new trends in digital and event management

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience;
  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a digital and/or event communications role.
  • Proven skills in digital and content management – knowledge of Oracle and Dreamweaver is preferred
  • Proven skills working multiple initiatives and complex tasks, with the ability to consistently exceed set objectives in a frequently changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability partnering with cross-functional teams to effectively influence across organizational boundaries
  • Proven ability interacting with employees at all levels (including senior leadership) and simplifying complex messages based on audience needs
  • Ability to think on your feet and quickly adapt to any issues that arise during events
  • Strong business acumen, detail-oriented organizational and interpersonal skills, resourceful and energetic, with strong writing and storytelling skills, along with proofreading and presentation skills
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Sharepoint) and knowledge of Photoshop, Oracle, Dreamweaver, Cvent, and app design is an asset
