ABOUT THIS POSITION
KBRwyle is engaged in the integration, test and evaluation, installation, maintenance, configuration, and management of Air Traffic Control (ATC) equipment for our Navy client located in St. Inigoes, Maryland. KBRwyle is seeking a STARS Engineering Technician II/III to provide routine to moderately complex technical services to the organization. Under direct supervision, the STARS
Engineering Technician II/III will apply engineering principles in a team environment to perform installation, integration, test and evaluation, and repair and maintenance of ATC systems.
This position requires daily interaction with KBRwyle ACS Hardware team members and Government customer representatives. The person in this position
will be required to travel up to 25 percent of the time.
An Associate Degree from an accredited school in electronics or computer discipline or a military electronics technician with C-school training, plus four years of experience in military electronic systems with two years of specific experience in field service of ATC equipment and one year of experience with STARS; or a high school diploma/equivalent or military electronics technician with A-school training, plus eight years of experience in military electronic systems with six years of specific experience in field service of ATC equipment and two years of experience with STARS.
The ideal candidate is technically proficient, organized and detailed-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
The position requires the candidate to work both independently and collaboratively with co-workers and customers. The following skills and abilities are required:
Familiarity with military electronics.
Read schematics and network diagrams.
Follow documented maintenance and troubleshooting processes.
Perform basic maintenance tasks down to board-level repairs.
Perform network cabling.
Perform integration and testing tasks in local Navy labs and at remote site locations.
The following skills are not required but are highly desired:
Perform system component configuration for computers, switches, routers, and related hardware.
ANSI J-Standard soldering certification.
This position requires US Citizenship and an ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
