Job Description:

Reporting to the SAS Controller, the Sr. Manager Financial Accounting will be part of a dynamic Accounting team responsible for PRISM, Cost and General Ledger Accounting. This high profile role will partner with business personnel in various functions and levels in the organization to understand the issues, evaluate Accounting solutions and support key business initiatives. The individual will demonstrate knowledge of appropriate GAAP, experience with complex accounting systems and experience with complex business initiatives. The successful candidate will apply analytical concepts consistently based on facts and circumstances and be able communicate information effectively across functions and the business.


  • Responsible for all aspects of SAS Accounting regarding direct and indirect costs, PRISM Accounting and the General Ledger/Accounting close process
  • Ensure accurate and reliable SAS financial statements and associated accounting records
  • Maintain compliance to RTN policies and procedures, Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls over financial reporting to support SEC reporting requirements to Corporate
  • Oversight for all general ledgers, ensuring financial accounts are reconciled on a timely basis in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with internal and external audit requirements in support of DCMA, DCAA and PwC
  • Manage all aspects of APEX/PRISM sub-ledger to ensure accurate grouping, pegging and distribution of costs to SAS contracts
  • Manage the use of the APEX CO module and APEX project system functionality
  • Manage the use of Internal/statistical orders, assessments & distributions to enable accurate cost collection, allocation and distribution of costs
  • Manage all direct labor pool allocations for consistency (PRISM & APEX), compliance to SAS CAS Disclosure Statement, and proper costing within EACs and Proposals
  • Business partner with Estimating and Pricing and the Business Processes Systems Teams to ensure proper costing for EACs and Proposals
  • Continuous development of top talent within the organization by providing challenging assignments and opportunities to demonstrate to functional leadership

Basic Qualifications:
  • 12+ years related work experience
  • Extensive experience and understanding of complex cost accounting systems
  • Working GAAP accounting knowledge
  • Experience working in a matrix environment with a great deal of autonomy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player and able to collaborate across functions and Raytheon businesses
  • Ability to travel
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance

Desired Skills:
  • CPA desired
  • 5+ years experience in aerospace/defense industry experience
  • Previous public accounting experience (inclusive of revenue auditing) desirable

Required Education:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or related discipline. Masters of Business Administration preferred.
