Job Summary: The Technical Accounting team at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson is seeking to expand through the addition of a team member focused on the Estimate at Complete (“EAC”) process. The Technical Accounting team supports the Business Controller organization through: EAC compliance, contract review, assessing transactions under US GAAP and Company Policy, completing finance projects, leading the adoption of new accounting standards, and providing accounting training to the broader finance organization.
The position will have high levels of direct interaction with EAC participants across the Company. The candidate will have visibility to finance management as they work closely in the preparation and review processes of the EAC cycle. The candidate will also develop their skillset through active participation in EAC projects at both the RMS and Raytheon levels and while gaining exposure to a wide range of EAC situations.
Review and provide guidance related to the Estimate at Complete (“EAC”) process.
Develop and lead training sessions related to the EAC process.
Assist RMS programs in the development of their EAC packages and assumptions through active participation in the process.
Assess transactions for appropriate treatment or presentation within the EAC package under Raytheon policy.
Actively participate in RMS and Corporate-led projects related to the EAC process, training, tools, and policy.
Identify and promote best practices through benchmarking against other Raytheon businesses.
Assist in special projects and transactions such as process improvements, SOX control design, and application of policy revisions.
Minimum Required Skills:
6 years finance/accounting experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business related field or 4 years finance/accounting experience with a related Master’s degree.
Strong understanding of the EAC process, requirements, and underlying methodology.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Proficiency in financial and reporting software.
Experience in presenting to a professional audience.
Understanding of revenue recognition for long-term contracts under the percentage of completion method.
Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or MBA.
