ASSOCIATE PROJECT LEADER, CONSTRUCTION

The Associate Project Leader, Construction assumes responsibility for coordinating certain portions of the administration of the project such as cost control, document control, contract changes, shop drawings, etc. He/She may be responsible for certain subcontractors or parts of a large project and can perform some basic project management functions. On a daily basis, the incumbent monitors the physical construction of the project through daily coordination of all field activities, subcontractor direction, and code/specification compliance.

This position is located as a client site in Mt Vernon, IN. No per diem will be offered.

RESPONSIBILITES

Responsibilities include technical input for schedule creation, subcontracting strategy, subcontractor scopes of work, quality of construction, schedule adherence, budget containment, safety, selection of methods, systems, and techniques of construction, and labor cost control through daily attention to unit costs and adjustments in crew size or composition, etc.

Responsible for the daily field construction of multiple minor projects (<$500K) in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company and client.

Qualifications:

years’ experience within chemical plants

Thorough knowledge of construction and safety activities as they relate to chemical plant construction, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.

Knowledge of technical vocabularies and terminology common to construction industry.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets and applications

Ability to develop and analyze information for studies and reports.

Demonstrated skills in data reporting and entry

Excellent verbal and written communication, listening and interpersonal skills

Must be able to maintain positive relationship through daily communication with the client

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is located at a plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes

·

Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots

·

Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc

·

Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs
