Description

SAIC is seeking an Applications Systems Developer for a contingent position supporting our Navy and Marine Corps (NMC) customers for Enterprise Network Defense in support of USMC Network Ops and Security Center.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of Defense Cyber Operations (DCO) tasks supporting customer requirements including software engineering services for the analysis, design and development of solutions in relation to maintaining, modifying and enhancing the security posture, response and analysis of threats to the global Enterprise Network.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops applications in ASP.NET Webforms and ASP.NET MVC using the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 (or later) product suite and C# programming language; Develops the Graphical User Interface (GUI) utilizing HTML5 standard for page structure, CSS and Bootstrap for styling, certain client-side technologies for efficiency such as JavaScript and JQuery; Utilizes AJAX for targeted server data requests vice full- page rendering, and utilizes Entity Framework.
  • Create, edit, and manage signatures, rules and filters for specialized network defense systems. Develop and implement custom capabilities within the IT Security Framework in structured query language (SQL), .NET and VB .NET.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining and refining the body of documentation that describes Signature Maintenance and Development tactics, techniques and procedures.
  • Subject matter expert in creation, editing, and management of signatures, rules and filters for specialized network defense systems including but not limited to network and host-based IDS, IPS, firewall, web application firewall, proxy and SIEM systems.
  • Work with managers, customers and applications systems analysts to define and build defense capabilities, signatures, queries, scripts and configurations for new threat vectors.
  • Modify host-based signatures to eliminate false-positive alerts.
  • Conduct in-depth traffic analysis of documented covert channels to create tailored response signatures.
  • Reverse engineer the sequence of events of a breach or attack.
  • Reverse engineer malware, using Dynamic and Static analysis.

 

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in CS / MIS or other related field.
  • •5+ years of work experience analyzing, designing, developing, implementing technology-based solutions to support security functions and near real-time response systems within a DOD secure environment. 
  • Demonstrated software development, cyber security and systems analysis skills. Able to analyze data, design solutions, program, test and implement.
  • Provides input to assist in formulating test scripts and plans for formal testing of software products.
  • Provides information, guidance, procedures and/or other applicable documentation to assist independent testers in the QA testing process. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members on software projects.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess time-management skills and great attention to detail.
  • Experienced troubleshooting and testing skills, problem identification/analysis skills. 
  •  Demonstrated communication and organizational skills. Should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adhere to organization’s technical architecture and best practices. 
  • Adheres to established software Configuration Management standards by utilizing Microsoft Team Foundation Server (MTFS) source code repository and version management.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Work experience with HBSS management and configuration.
  • Experience with Network Security Manager (IPS), or other IPS or IDS systems.

Clearance:

  • Active DOD TS/SCI clearance required.

Certifications Required:

  • Security+ or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
