The Configuration Management Specialist (CMS) will be responsible for assisting the government in establishing and maintaining a documented baseline for the Customer Program Office.
Working across multiple business process areas, the CMS will gather, analyze, and verify data on existing enterprise platforms, locations, hardware, software and documentation for entry into the configuration management system (CMPRO) for the establishment or update of baselines in accordance with PMW 205 Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
Supporting the government's CM program and assisting the lead CMS in developing, reviewing and maintaining the ONE- NET CM Plan.
Assisting the lead CMS with product structure/configuration hierarchy definition and maintaining configuration baselines (Functional, Allocated, Product, As-Installed).
Evaluating and processing submitted Change Requests (ECR/RFC) and coordinating efforts with internal and external stakeholders.
Participating in Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (SE- IPT) meetings/discussions.
Implementing process for updating baseline records with changes approved via the ONE-NET RFC process.
Reviewing, updating and providing CM process training to contractor and government personnel as required.
Establishing complete baselines for hardware and software and displaying the information via the CM data repository.
Supporting the government's Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) process and procedures.
Providing weekly status updates and Monthly Activity Reports.
Required Education and Experience:
Must have experience and background in Configuration Management relevant to configuration identification and change management, at a minimum, and be familiar with all five functions of Configuration Management as detailed in ANSI/EIA-649-B.
Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must maintain eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related experience is preferred.
A valid High School diploma or GED and 8+ years of Military/Defense Configuration Management or Commercial Network Configuration Management experience are required.
Active, transferable DoD Secret (or higher) clearance is required.
Technical knowledge of baseline and change management processes. Knowledge of CMII, ITIL, MIL-HDBK-61A, EIA-649-B.
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management software tools.
Prior military background or experience a plus.
Related industry certifications, such as CMPIC or CMII, are also a plus.
