Description

Provide Tier II network security services support, incident and problem management for a large enterprise network of close to 200 sites. Respond to operational requests day to day and act as the first level of escalation for incident resolution. Working closely with the Senior Security Engineers: review new service and firewall requests, respond quickly to incidents and operational outages, manage the security ticket queue and assist with operational and process improvements to ensure SLR's are met. Report regular status of service requests and operational incidents to the SDM and Lead Senior Network Engineer. This Role Performs: 
  • Review and completion of service requests 
  • Review and completion of firewall requests 
  • Respond to requests for firewall policy information and to assist troubleshooting firewall related issues
  • Management of all network equipment supporting the enterprise for both project and operational requirements
  • Monitor and resolve network security incidents on a 24X7 basis 
  • The position maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and security hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls and gateways

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 
  • Bachelor’s Degree and Two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience. HS Diploma and/or Equivalent will be considered in lieu of degree with an additional 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience with Cisco Systems Network, Security and Datacenter products
  • Experience supporting Cisco Firewall technologies (Tier II - supporting, administering, troubleshooting, break-fix)
  • Experience supporting large enterprise networks (Load Balancing - F5 networks, Remote Access) 
  • Strong background with Service and Change Management (Ticket Management - handle ticketing queue, change controls, etc.)
  • Must be able to pass a California Department of Justice (DoJ) LiveScan background investigation and a detailed lifestyle law enforcement background interview.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security 
  • CompTIA Security + 
  • Ability to present very complex technical concepts in understandable language 
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Experience supporting Software Defined Networking.
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus devices
