In support of the FireWatch program, the person in this position maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components
Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions
Applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
Make entries in aircraft logs and records, assists in maintaining electronic maintenance system, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
Responsible to ensure that all work orders and accompanied “use” forms are appropriately filled out and turned in to the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure proper recording.
Assists with maintaining inventories and inventory control.

Knowledge & Skills
Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensionmeters, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
The incumbent must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike
Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft and aircraft component delivery schedules.
Experience & Education
High School Education or equivalent.
Incumbent will be required to obtain a restricted CLASS A commercial drivers’ license within the first month of employment.
4 or more years’ experience in aircraft maintenance environment.
2 or more years field experience
Airframe and Power plant (A&P) license.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to three (3) hours per day and sit for up to five (5) hours per day
May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. to the height of 4 feet and up to 20 lbs. to a height of 7 feet
May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
On occasion must be able to lift up to 80 pounds
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs
Must be able to work inside/outside in extreme hot/cold
