    Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) team has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Mission Assurance to join our growing team. This position serves as the overall Mission Assurance (MA) lead for the Seapower Capability Systems (SCS) Business Area. Reporting to the Vice President of Mission Assurance and the Vice President of SCS, the Director will be responsible for a matrix and direct report team that assures product quality, compliance and effectiveness throughout the life cycle for the SCS Business Area.It focuses on representing the customers’ best interests, and developing solutions to ensure that the SCS team meets customer / end user requirements and expectations. You will be a member of the SCS and MA leadership teams and will help develop strategies and goals for the organizations which include the identification of continuous improvement opportunities that drive business results. The role must flexibly represent other functions in key meetings with suppliers and customers.

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Forming critical partnerships with the SCS VP and the SCS leadership team developing MA solutions to enable global growth. The role provides strong coordination between all functions.
    • Briefing all levels of IDS and customer leadership on MA performance, strategy, and issues.
    • Creating and maintaining strategic relationships with key customers and suppliers that are conducive to capture and execution of programs and can be leveraged to promote business growth.
    • Leading a team of professionals located in San Diego, CA, St. Petersburg, FL, Portsmouth, RI and Massachusetts.
    • Developing and executing the MA bid and proposal strategy on competitive proposals
    • Leading Quality planning, Earned Value Management and staffing performance to enable disciplined risk and opportunity management and predictable program execution
    • Deploying and executing Cost of Poor Quality reduction measures to drive cost reduction and improve competitive position.
    • Own the Quality Management System (QMS)
    This position requires the ability to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of employment. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 14 years of prior relevant experience
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality, Applied Sciences and/or Engineering Experience leading teams through change
    • Experience with preparing and presenting senior management level briefings and influencing senior leadership on issues
    • Ability to build and lead highly effective teams, and develop effective relationships across cultures with both US and international customers and suppliers
    • Experience working within a matrix and Integrated/Cross Product Team environment
    • Ability to take quality sciences and translate into business terms
    • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
    • U.S. Citizenship is required
    • Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Business or related field
    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in STEM, Business or related field
    • In-depth knowledge of MA and related disciplines – systems, software, hardware, manufacturing
    • Experience facilitating cross organizational solutions in response to diverse objectives with ability to influence others to achieve business goals
    • Experience in a production environment for entire product life cycle including emphasis on Quality planning, requirements flowdown, Quality Management System (QMS) deployment and/or supplier management
    • Expertise in Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action and application of Quality Sciences
    • Competitive Proposal and Program Capture experience; Multi-functional / Program experienceControl Account Management (CAM)/Earned Value Management System (EVMS) budget management expertise
    • Experience with U.S. Navy customer
    • ASQ Certifications (CQM/OE preferred); Six Sigma and/or LEAN certified
    • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 and NATO AQAP quality management systems
    • Demonstrated broad based technical and business fundamentals
    • Strong strategic vision and the ability to develop and execute transformational change
    • Ability to prioritize work load in a multi-tasking, resource constrained work environment
    • Provide strong business performance leadership by defining responsibilities, motivating employees, and demonstrating effective problem solving
    • Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) experience
    • Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) experience
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation & negotiation skills
