The focus of the Corporate Security team is to provide strategic leadership and guidance to the business on how to protect our people and assets, and respond to threats and incidents that occur. The purpose of the role will be to operate within the Business Support Team and, reporting directly to the Business Support Manager in Corporate Security. They will provide a key role within this central team by ensuring they provide support to all areas of the Corporate Security function, enabling the team to safeguard National Grids people, assets and reputation.
Provide a support and administrative function to the department
Share point management including permission, document control and storage management
Provide finance support i.e. raising shopping carts, purchase orders
Preparation of presentations and other material required including Team Hub
Assist in collating updates for executive meetings from the management team
Organise calendars, meetings and team events
Respond to and manage the various dot boxes to ensure consistent approach in responses
Organise and attend internal and some external meetings and provide robust meeting minutes that support the meeting and circulate appropriately
Assist in the training of new staff where appropriate to ensure consistency of approach and compliance with standard processes, procedures and competency assessment
Co-ordinate and prepare plans, update departmental wide processes and procedures, co-ordinate and plan for quality audits
Maintain an up to date knowledge of appropriate legislation, policies and procedures, technical standards, technical developments and codes of practice, to ensure the provision of a safe and cost effective operation
Help support in the administration of the ISS Service & Support contract using Conject
Creating a cross functional team to help formulate resilience
Help support the Business Support Manager in delivering the appropriate service to the Corporate Security team.
Providing clear and concise communications to internal and external audiences where appropriate.
Strong team working and interpersonal skills.
In addition to passing National Grid’s security and background checks the suitable candidate will also need to undergo the governments CTC (Counter Terrorism Check)
Applicable qualifications and/or demonstrable experience in maths, English and IT
