Description

Duties and responsibilities Summary:

SAIC is currently looking for Environmental Engineers to support launch system SE&I activities for the Launch Enterprise (LE) Directorate at SMC. This position is located at Los Angeles AFB, CA. Key aspects of this oversight will include the following:

Evaluate launch service provider designs, operations and procedures to comply with environmental requirements

Report any environmental discrepancies

Provide strategies and recommendations for compliance

Evaluate hazardous material management plans

Develop requests for Environmental Impact Analysis (AF Form 813) to initiate the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process for launch activities.

Evaluate and update program environmental documentation

 

Job Specific Responsibilities:

Performs environmental analysis, typically in assessing, analyzing, researching and ensuring environmental policy compliance with pertinent Federal, state and local environmental regulations.  May perform research and assessment of data; develop or prepare reports, surveys, descriptive charts, figures or matrices for compliance and specific application of these items.  May involve preparation of information in support of environmental policy development or administration. 

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

Clearance level: DoD Secret; TS/SCI desired

Participated with senior managers to establish plans and objectives

Ability to recommend/make decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives

 

Desired Education and Years of Experience

Bachelors and nine (9) years or more of related experience

Alternatives:

Masters and seven (7) years or more of related experience

PhD or JD and four (4) years or more of related experience
