Job Summary
 
The Fire Sprinkler Technician is responsible for protecting lives and property from fire by installing, fixing, and servicing sprinkler systems. 
 
Principal Accountabilities

  • Inspects, test, maintains and repairs fire suppression systems that in a manner that ensures their serviceability and operation in accordance with applicable standards
  • Ensure electrical systems are turned on/off when disassembly and completion of suppression system maintenance
  • Reviews the current status of all installed fire suppression systems
  • Coordinates regularly scheduled and emergency repairs of suppression systems
  • Submits documented reports regarding installed fire suppression system’s inspection, test, maintenance or repair work, noting discrepancies, system impairments, and recommendations
  • Inspects installed fire suppression systems and corrects any discrepancies or impairments to an installed system
  • Oversees of regularly scheduled testing of fire Suppression systems
  • Supervisors and performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance as required

Knowledge & Skills

  • Qualifications shall include at least one or more of the following:
    • Personnel who are factory trained and certified for fire alarm system service of the specific type and brand of system for types of alarm systems in use at Al Dhafra AB)
    • Personnel who are certified by a nationally recognized fire alarm certification organization
    • Personnel who are registered, licensed, or certified by a state or local authority
    • Personnel who are employed and qualified by an organization listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for the servicing of fire alarm systems
  • Must have fluency in reading, writing, and speaking, and understanding English
  • Knowledge of document and report writing
  • Technical Understanding
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Knowledge of lockout and tag out procedures
  • Ability to use a computer and related software
  • Other Requirements:
    • Shall possess a valid US driver’s license
    • Shall possess a valid passport
    • Shall possess an international driver’s license
    • Shall be able to obtain the appropriate country visa
    • Shall possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Experience & Education

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 years experienced in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in fire alarms and fire suppression systems or a combination of equivalent education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Travel

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
