Principal Software Engineer - Military veterans preferred

Job Description:

The ALCS Principal Software Engineer will support Business Development Lead responsibilities for the management of multiple functions within the product support function for Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS). This role requires minimal supervision and is an individual that will work directly with the ALCS Product Manager to position the ALCS Product and services for sale in current and adjacent markets

The individual will report directly to the ALCS Product Manager, communicating customer and mission requirements and assisting in the management of product design and applications that directly support current customer and emerging market requirements.

Typical duties involve meeting with existing customers and current program coordinators as well as the ALCS Business Analysis’s to develop road maps and strategies for the ALCS Product and services. Research and competitive analysis of other software systems and services in the logistics market space. The role includes support to the Product Manager for projects directly relating to the capabilities and functions of the product such as strategic interfaces, enhanced reporting, and mobility.



Required Skills:

• Mid-level training in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
• The candidate must have a working knowledge of databases applications and data intensive processes such as Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Replication, and Reporting Services.
• The candidate must possess sufficient professional competence to operate independently, within a broad scope of authority, and with minimal supervision.
  
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen with an active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain on.
  

Desired Skills:

Energetic professional, who can coordinate and interface effectively at all levels of the organization, across a multi-contractor and government workforce. This individual will be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications skills. The individual will have the ability to research complex customer problems and provide technical, process and/or training solutions, including TCP/IP networking, database management and software requirements. In-depth knowledge of the MILSTRIP, MILSTRAP, and US ARMY STAMIS standards and functions as well as extensive working experiences with the Raytheon Automated Logistics Control System for supply and maintenance tracking is desirable. The ability to isolate problems and initiate solutions in a timely manner is expected. Generating deliverable documents, planning activities including developing and performing presentations to the customer is also required. Experience managing in a depot or production environment is a plus.


Required Education (including Major):

Requires bachelor's degree in computer science, or 8 years minimum experience, providing logistics and system maintenance support of technical hardware and software, and/or military related activities.
