Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to join our team that will provide a test and evaluation for ™, named by Popular Science as one of 2018’s “Best of What’s New”. The ideal candidate will be engaged in research and/or product development with the core team. This is an exciting role for someone with a solid electrical engineering foundation and an attitude for learning and innovating in a dynamic environment.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Perform simulation and analysis using Matlab (or similar tools) for system performance in areas such as target detection and estimation, clutter suppression, Doppler sensing, resource optimization, etc.
  • Operate several radar systems located primarily in MA, but also around the US
  • Provide innovative design proposals for system enhancement, algorithm development, and optimization in support of key performance parameters
  • Implement software-based system changes (when applicable) to fulfill Customer needs
  • Collaborate in an agile development environment with multiple engineering disciplines within Raytheon, suppliers, and Customers to develop and deliver system enhancements for multiple stakeholders
The position studies existing system performance to affect future design changes to improve the system and contributes to the development of operational plans in conjunction an agile development team to obtain data necessary to study and implement system enhancements. This position is internal and external facing and requires for communicating with multiple parties to achieve program objectives.

The position is located in Marlborough, MA.

US Citizenship required, and have an existing DOD – Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a US DOD Secret security clearance.

Required Skills:

  • System-level hardware and software integration experience with demonstrated problem solving results
  • Experience with performing simulation and analysis using Matlab, Python, or other similar tools and languages
  • Proficiency working in a lab environment and operating RF and standard test equipment including spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Willingness and ability to support domestic travel and potential international travel
  • Proven innovator of creative solutions to challenging problems
Desired Skills:

  • Direct experience with design and product development of software-defined systems
  • Experience with analyzing air traffic radar key performance parameters
  • Demonstrated experience developing innovative techniques for identification and extraction of features in a large data set using signal processing or machine learning techniques
  • Experience collaborating in agile development with systems and software engineering disciplines, suppliers, and Customers to develop and deliver safety critical air traffic surveillance systems
  • Experience with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA)
Required Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and 4 years of related work experience or Master Degree and 2 years of related work experience.
