Test Pilot School Rotary Wing Instructor Pilot

ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position supports tasking at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) for the US Naval Test Pilot School in Patuxent River, MD. The selected candidate will serve as a rotary wing flight instructor at the US Naval Test Pilot School. The individual will provide all aspects of test pilot instruction for the rotary wing curriculum at the US Naval Test Pilot School. As part of the world’s largest independent flight test organization supporting both US Government and commercial agencies, you will be joining a highly talented and experienced KBRwyle aircrew services team that has provided over 40 continuous years of Test Pilot instruction at Patuxent River. As a long term incumbent and leader in test pilot instruction, the selected applicant will work within the Test Pilot School environment composed of government, military, contractor and industry personnel while supporting flight test instruction. Sign-on bonus and relocation stipend available.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least ten (10) years of related experience. An engineering/technical degree is desired. The selected candidate must be a graduate of one of the following test pilot schools: USNTPS, USAFTPS, Empire Test Pilot School or EPNER Test Pilot School. Must be able to maintain a FAA Class II medical certificate. A minimum of 1500 flight hours in helicopters required. The successful applicant must possess at least one (1) year of ground or in-flight instructor experience and three (3) years of Test Project Officer experience in military rotary wing test and evaluation. Previous qualification as a Military Aviator/Test Pilot required.
A Master’s degree is desired. Recent experience (within 3 years) as rotary wing flight instructor is highly desired. Understanding of rotary wing test techniques required. The candidate must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written communications skills. Individual must be able to pass the physical and training qualification requirements to provide contract aircrew support, including completion of survival and aviation physiology training.
