MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN I â?? 3 openings

BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for meeting daily mechanical production needs in regard to the manufacturing of Reverse Osmosis Equipment and Components. Duties include a variety of basic mechanical work including wrenching, installation of components on large equipment, press operation and cutting This role will be key in supporting business needs in EHS, quality, on time shipment, and productivity.
These duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive and will be supplemented as necessary.

1. Utilize measuring devices to accurately perform duties.
2. Operates basic hand tools and various air and/or electric hand tools/equipment while performing the responsibilities in a safe manner..
3. Keep accurate records of time spent on jobs and explain any discrepancies/problems as necessary.
4. Maintains a clean work area supported by Lean 5S initiatives.
5. Attend all training required by Suez.
6. Follow Safe Work Practices and all environmental, health and safety rules.
7. Performs any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor, Facilitator, or Lead.

Qualifications/Requirements
ï?§ High School Diploma/GED
ï?§ Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
ï?§ Ability to wear hearing protection.
ï?§ Able to work with minimal amount of supervision
ï?§ Communication skills

Will be trained on some of the following task(s) as needed:
ï?§ Lean Manufacturing
ï?§ Basic machine tool & measuring skills
ï?§ Operation of cranes and hoists
ï?§ Stainless steel tube bending
ï?§ PVC pipe cutting and gluing
ï?§ Flaring press operation.
ï?§ Operation of various types of saws ensuring parts are cut precisely
ï?§ Operation of a T-Drill
ï?§ Reads and understands production orders and BOM's
ï?§ Process to informs leadership of routing and drawings inaccuracies
ï?§ Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and schematics and process to assemble machines/components based on drawings and detailed verbal instructions.
ï?§ Understands how the tools and materials replenishment system operates (equipment)
ï?§ Welding operations
ï?§ Electrical assembly task
ï?§ Bead-Blasting Operation
ï?§ Frame/piping wash and prep

Day 1-2 Classroom/Hands-On Training

EHS Training-RA reviews, Safe Work Practices
Tool Safety
Ladder Safety
Measuring Skills
Production Orders- vouchering
Lean Manufacturing Overview

Days 2-45 after training, repetition, demonstrate capability on the task noted below:

- ability to read and understands production orders and BOM's
- frame/piping wash and prep
- basic machine tool & measuring skills
Accurate use of tape measure/level
Drilling
Tapping
Thread taping
- Operation of various types of saws ensuring parts are cut precisely -
-fastener use and tightening
-Understanding of Bills of Materials-
- PVC pipe cutting and gluing
- Operation of cranes and hoists
- Bead/Shot Blasting Operation
45 Day Review to discuss EHS performance, status of above task, attendance patterns, team skills
Days 45-90
Progression/efficiency growth on the above task with possibility of being trained on the following task based on initiative of team member, business need and progress
Flaring press operation
Operation of a T-Drill
Welding operations
Electrical assembly task
90 Day Review to discuss EHS performance, status of above task, attendance patterns, team skills
