Job Description:
Raytheon Vision Systems is seeking a detail oriented, thorough, organized and capable candidate to join our team as Test Engineering Intern. Successful candidate for the Test Engineering summer 2019 Internship position will have a strong electronics background and possess an interest in the application of imaging technology to participate in multi-discipline teams supporting primarily military programs. The individual will be responsible for performing tests on focal plane array products at various levels of assembly, and contributing solutions to technical problems arising in the test of focal plane array products. Teaming effectively with other test engineers and team members, as well as communicating effectively to keep team members and management informed is a must.

The chosen candidate will learn frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques. Candidates will be expected to provide recommendations to a variety of technical problems of appropriate scope and complexity, working under general supervision. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04 or G05 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2019) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2019) - must have completed 90 hours of college
  • NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2019) - must have an undergraduate degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a graduate degree program

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of basic electronics principles, theories, concepts, and troubleshooting methods shown through course work
  • Experience using common laboratory equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, voltmeters, signal generators)
  • Experience working within a team shown through class projects, work experience, or extracurricular activities
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written & listening)
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
  • Experience testing infrared and visible sensors, and their components - readout integrated circuits (ROIC), focal plane arrays (FPA), integrated dewar/cooler assemblies (IDCA)
  • Course work in one or more of the following areas: digital circuit design, analog circuit design, digital signal processing, or control theory.
  • Understanding of readout integrated circuits and focal plane array detectors
  • Knowledge of programming languages (i.e., visual basic, C#, MATLab)
  • Ability to read schematics
  • Related work experience

Required Education
Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from an accredited university and entering as a college Junior or Senior year by Fall 2019. Must be working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
