This position is ideal for someone with knowledge and experience with the system development life cycle and design, integration and implementation of large, enterprise scale data communications network infrastructures. Combining the latest technologies with industry best practices, engineers work both independently and as a team to provide IT related support for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The responsibilities include:
Install/uninstall, integrate, configure, administer, and support the network hardware with DISA and customer computing data centers.
Physically install, configure switches, routers, firewalls, VPN hardware, console interfaces, racks and other associated/similar hardware.
Install enterprise network architectural changes in response to policies, security or customer requirements.
Run and terminate cables, both Copper and fiber.
Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.
Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.
May perform network administration duties.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Frequent travel to support large install efforts at other sites and/or remote site installs (CONUS and OCONUS).
Active Secret Clearance
Required to have a Security+ or CISSP.
5+ years of directly related experience in network design/implementation/integration.
Hands on network experience in support of large data centers or hands on experience with network support of data center migrations is strongly preferred.
Person should have knowledge of WANs and LANs including routers, switches, firewalls, IDS, web cache equipment, proxy servers, VPN equipment, router access lists, firewall rule sets, servers, and other enterprise network equipment.
Working knowledge of F5 Big-IP, Riverbed Steelhead, Cisco Nexus, Juniper and Brocade platforms is a plus.
Person must be proficient in Microsoft Office and must be able to prepare Power Point briefs and Visio drawings.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science; Engineering; or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.
