Description

  SAIC is seeking Senior Medical SME’s for work in various African countries partnered with the US State Department's GPOI (Global Peace Operations Initiative) training program. GPOI has absorbed the former Africa Contingency Operations Training and Assistance (ACOTA) program. GPOI manages the program under the Department of State's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs in collaboration with the Bureau of African Affairs/Security Assistance (AF/SA). The program provides mentoring, advising, and training support and assistance to Host Nation (HN) training centers, their cadre, and units (company to brigade size and including multi-national force headquarters) in training for peacekeeping missions.  This training may include extensive field training as well as training, equipment and infrastructure support for the training center and its staff and instructors. 

Positions are located in English and non-English speaking countries. Foreign language (primarily French) capability is highly desired for consideration in non-English speaking locations.

 

 

The PSO Senior Medical SME will:

 

Mentor, advise, assist, and/or train Partner Nation military personnel in in appropriate medical skills to conduct triage, lifesaving, and medical evacuation procedures.

 

Prepare and conduct Tactical Combat Casualty Care Training

 

Prepare and conduct Combat Lifesaver Training

 

Develop POIs, lesson plans, and training support packages for directed training

 

Coordinate methods of training and follow on training with partner nation medical personnel

 

Support the preparation of partner country battalions and brigades for PSO deployments

 

Provide training involving classroom instruction and hands on practical applications

 

Conduct training in the training language of the Host Nation Military


THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON GOVERNMENT AWARD


Qualifications

Education & Experience (Required): 


Minimum of ten (10) years U.S. or foreign military occupational specialty experience and Emergency Medical Technician qualification.

 

French language ability at a 3-3 level qualification required in Francophone countries.

 

Have a blend of skills, experience, and knowledge that will best support developing capability for the HN

Recent OIF/OEF/OIR experience

 

UN Peacekeeping experience

 

Experience in Africa and previous GPOI missions

 

Experience operating in areas with limited life support and in hardship conditions
