Description

SAIC is seeking  a Systems Administrator- Linux  in North Charleston, SC to support the US Navy.

 

Job Duties: 

  • Manage, support, and troubleshoot Linux server environments on the CND (Computer Network Defense) project.
  • Work primarily on RHEL servers to change/modify configuration files, perform packet capture analysis, restart services, add/remove user accounts, configure centralized authentication, review log files, mitigate system vulnerabilities, apply and test patches.
  • Assist customer sites with any Linux related issues.

Travel:

  • Anticipated travel is 25% or less of time.  Candidate must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.

Qualifications

Required Certifications:

  • Current security certification in one of the following: CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, OR GCIH.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and 5 years or more experience or 9 years of related experience with a HS/GED.
  • Active Secret Clearance and have eligibility for a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Solid understanding and experience with Linux/Unix based operating systems.
  • Experience in Commercial hardening and mitigating system vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with BIND DNS and SPLUNK.
  • 3 years minimum IT experience to include three (3) of the following (6) areas:
    • Software requirements
    • Operational requirements
    • Installation
    • Test and evaluation
    • Advanced system architecture
    • Training
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two (2) of the following areas:
    • Ability to plan and organize work and interact with technical and non-technical personnel translating user requirements into responsive applications.
    • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of IA concepts and requirements.
    • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of DOD military specifications and standards.
    • System design integration planning for multiple large-scale installations.
    • Hardware and software Evaluation.
    • Application and System Assessments, planning execution and management.
    • System requirements planning and oversight.
    • Technical development product milestone scheduling.
    • Installation and configuration of hardware and software capabilities.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working with DISA ACAS (Tenable Nessus) and DoD/DISA STIG.
