SAIC Enterprise IT, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, has an opportunity for a Technical Support Specialist under the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). 

Qualified candidate will join the existing VA Service Desk to provide support to the VA Strong Authentication mission.

The position involves learning and training others on established procedures; performing routine maintenance tasks on VA systems, responding to user reported issues and recording incidents on a proprietary incident tracking system.

This is a call center environment requiring professional level customer service.

This is a shift work position and the successful candidate must be flexible in days and hours worked. 

Teleworking capability may be required, to assure coverage in cases of inclement weather.



Required Education & Qualifications

  • AA Degree or equivalent and no experience or High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years working on an IT Help Desk or in a customer support position
  • Possess strong oral/written communication, organizational, decision-making, excellent customer service, and problem solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • Server processes and network operations experience 
  • Must be customer focused, detail oriented, a problem solver and able to prioritize work
  • Must be comfortable in a team-oriented call center environment and be internally motivated.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and recent experience with Security Authentication Tokens, Windows 7, Windows 2008 Server, Microsoft Forefront Identity Management, and familiarity with Microsoft SQL is a plus
  • Network Administration and/or Desktop support experience is also highly desirable.
  • User experience with Remedy ARS is also a plus.

Clearance Requirements

Applicant must have or be able to obtain VA ADP Sensitivity Level I Security Clearances.
