Job Description:

The customer is interested in IT Modernization efforts and Reskilling and Workforce Transformation. Reskill and upskill employees impacted by IT modernization efforts, evolve workforce to more 21st Century skillsets and work practices, and enable the workforce to drive successful IT Modernization efforts going forward utilizing in-house talent.

 

The Business Modernization Office Subject Matter Expert participates in and manages the modernization aspects of current processes and systems and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.  Considered expert in field within the organization. Reviews status of projects and budgets with regards to potential improvements; develops and executes modernization strategies and plans; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet modernization, productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect organization. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

 

Responsible for working on the definition and implementation of project planning techniques to provide visibility on the contract. Responsibilities may include developing budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for an assigned portion of the modernization program, participating in and establishing and defining program plan requirements, and monitoring and reporting performance against plans to ensure business modernization goals and contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met.   Provides guidance to more junior team members to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years of related experience.

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience establishing IT PMO organizations and developing strategy plans and objectives.

  • Strong expertise in Project Portfolio Management methodologies.

  • Proven experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects and multiple organizations

  • and knowledge of and ability to apply industry best practices for project management,

  • budget planning, and business case development

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and ten (10) years of relevant experience.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified and/or Certified Scrum Master.

  • 8 years managing CIO

  • PMO Organizations experience

  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain a public trust.

 

Clearance Requirement:

  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
