The Network Services Manager is a key position on this contract supporting a federal government customer and directs the Network Services team by providing day-to-day oversight and management of data network and infrastructure operations. This also includes oversight of related infrastructure activities in all project phases beginning with requirements gathering through implementation, with on-going production and on-call support.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and directs all aspects operations and maintenance (O&M) of the infrastructure
  • Exercises leadership and day-to-day management of technical teams tasked with the operations of the servers and network
  • Serves as the senior-level escalation point for infrastructure staff that responds and resolves all infrastructure operational issues
  • Manages government customer relationships to maintain infrastructure operations
  • Meet or exceed all service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure meeting of deliverables
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for all IT infrastructure operating environments
  • Reports key metrics on network infrastructure operational activity
  • Manages and oversees the maintenance of all assets for the data center, networks, and other infrastructure
  • Provides strategic direction for growth for technology infrastructure operations capacity planning
  • Supervises employees including selecting, training, assigning and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and/or terminating
  • Performs other related duties as required

 

Required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
  • At least U.S. Resident
  • Active PMP certification
  • At least one technical certification: MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, CCNP or equivalent
  • Previous experience managing a technical team on a federal government contract
  • 7+ years managing technical teams
  • Experience with infrastructure/network operations support
  • Experience developing and implementing operational plans, processes, and infrastructure methodologies
  • Experience in operations and project management
  • Considerable knowledge of network-based systems operations and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of network and cable management systems
  • Knowledge of data center operations and capacity planning
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures for troubleshooting incidents and outages
  • Knowledge of data center networks, storage area networks (SAN), Linux, MS Windows and VMWare environments
  • Strong customer-focus skills with ability to recognize customer requirements, assist customer in achieving their goals, manage customer expectations and consistently achieve high customer satisfaction
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational and management skills; ability to efficiently manage a variety of multiple concurrent projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
  • Ability to manage numerous projects and activities simultaneously, ensuring the correct priorities are assigned and initiatives are completed within resource constraints.
  • Be on call for critical systems
  • Oversee weekend maintenance activities twice a month

Qualifications:

12+ years of experience, of which at least 8 years is specialized experience in data center and network operations management; or without degree 9 or more years of experience related to position
