The Enterprise Management System (EMS) Lead directs, designs, develops, and optimizes innovative monitoring tools and systems at scale; with deep knowledge of enterprise monitoring; distributed systems; operating systems; and networks. The EMS is part of the team responsible for designing and implementing the software; tools; and best practices for monitoring the business critical and real-time services. The EMS Lead may guide the successful completion of major projects impacting multiple business entities and represents the company in external contracts and projects. Systems development and integration services includes the full life-cycle; from implementation of new systems (analysis; design; construction; or acquisition; testing; production installation; training; documentation and integration with existing systems) to maintenance of existing systems (systems enhancements; corrective maintenance; query support and general support).

  • Lead team efforts to design and implement the monitoring systems of core infrastructure and applications. Identifies and manages system interfaces; service levels; standards and configurations. Conduct feasibility studies; perform sizing and costing system analysis; and negotiate cost effective solutions to meet requirements. Prepare business cases related to recommendations and makes project presentations to senior management.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovation that improves system availability; resiliency; and performance.
  • Lead by example as a hands-on engineer; contributing high quality; production ready solutions that will be used in business critical applications.
  • Provide detailed feedback to developers and network engineers in design and code reviews. Analyze IT project proposals for cost and technology impact to ensure alignment with organizational strategy and business unit objectives.
  • Build consensus on ideas across technology and products.
  • Define, drive, and implement architecture strategy of major pieces of data center monitoring and management infrastructure.
  • Work closely with the rest of the technology leadership team and Government; including application development; testing services; network engineering and operations to establish our technical strategy and communicate it to senior management.
  • Thoroughly assess and document current state of the monitoring environment. Develop and implement roadmaps to address gaps and meet business needs.
  • Engineer monitoring solutions operations; policies; and procedures to drive proactive alerts and notifications.
  • Experience with real time centralized datacenter application and hardware (network/server/storage) monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Expertise in scripting using a variety of tools.
  • Ability to use predictive analytics tools to analyze real-time; dynamic service model to correlate metric abnormalities with topology to forecast problems and prioritize issues based on business impact.
  • Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through.
  • Must be a consummate professional in both demeanor and attire.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Develops and maintain documentation such as SOPs on existing and new applications.




  • Active Security+ CE Certification (or higher) at time of hire.
  • Active Computing Environment certification in compliance with Army Training & Certification Tracking System (ATCTS) requirements at time of hire.


10-15 years of experience in application engineering, administration, and analysis and Operations team leadership.

  • Cisco and Juniper devices
  • Cisco ACS or Cisco ISE
  • Load Balancers
  • Riverbed Performance tools
  • InfoVista Performance tools
  • BMC tools (such as BBNA, BBSA, ADDM)
  • Red Hat Linux, Solaris, and Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 operating systems
  • Scripting
  • IBM Tivoli Netcool Monitoring tool (to include strong knowledge of SNMP)
  • Single Sign On (SSO) Portal tool integration and administration
  • Business Objects/Crystal Reports
  • Remedy Ticketing System
  • Microsoft Office Suite to include Project and Visio

Security Clearance

  • Active Top Secret clearance at the time of hire (with eligible for SCI Security Clearance)
