SAIC Office of Security is currently seeking a Security Specialist as the Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support the Huntsville, AL Security Operations. The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) will provide expertise, guidance and advice to the Facility Security Officer (FSO) as required, concerning all security administrative functions in support of a National Intelligence Security Program (NISP).
Job Duties will include: • Assist with submitting individuals for access, security briefings, to include refreshers, debriefings, and foreign travel reporting. • Administrative security actions (safe combo changes, fingerprints, badging, classified destruction, visit certifications, etc.) • Support both collateral level security programs and special access programs • Conduct and participate in security plans, procedures, and instructions; enhance the ongoing security awareness and education programs • Maintain and coordinate excellent working relationships with government agencies • Ensure compliance with all government and company security regulations • Manage day-to-day execution of all security operations including: o Personnel clearance processing, o Assisting with classified materials receipt, logging, control, and dissemination o Maintenance of certifications and accreditation of the facilities • Perform self-audits of facility security program and participate in DSS Security Vulnerability Assessments (SVA)
Required Education and Experience:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a security specialist. • High level of understanding and proficiency of NISPOM, JPAS, Personnel Security, Army (ACCS) system processing, and SCI nomination processes • Familiarity with DISS and NISS. • Experience in the following security disciplines: document control, adverse information investigations, physical security, visitor control, badging and access control. • Highly organized and detail oriented. • Ability to multi-task and excel in a highly dynamic, multi-customer environment. • Current FSO Certification or ability to attain within three months • Collaborative decision maker.
• High level of proficiency with SIMs. • Knowledge of COMSEC processes and policies TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and three (3) years or more of related experience; Masters and one year of related experience.
