Job Description:
Raytheon Missile Systems has an opportunity for a Senior Commodity Specialist, for Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) Team, at the Tucson AZ business location. The Senior Subcontract Specialist sources, negotiates, awards, documents and manages agreements for materials, services, and supplies. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting Supplier Managed Inventory Team.

The Senior Commodity Specialist will have direct contact with suppliers, internal customers, Quality, Engineering, and Operations (Production Control), and is expected to drive material savings by adding new parts to the SMI Suppliers, manage the relationship with the SMI supplier as well to ensure the supplier is supplying quality hardware to the factories.

Responsibilities would include but not be limited to, adding and maintaining the SMI Kanbans within PRISM (SAP), working with Production Control for annual usages, working with quality to maintain standard Q-Notes for their material, supporting RMS factories to ensure there are no SMI Supplier shortages, resolving Supply Chain issues for the program and supplier; supporting future proposal activities; identifying and mitigating factory risks as they pertain to SMI material requirements; maintaining and monitoring monthly metrics with the supplier. The individual needs to be success oriented, self-motivated, committed to work within the compliant requirements, proficient in Excel, PRISM, and communication. This position needs to be filled immediately.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in tactical tasks
  • Ability to work successfully with minimal oversight, yet ready to recognize and escalate when assistance is required
  • Plan, organize, direct and monitor subcontractor performance
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with SAP/PRISM
  • Performed or understand price and cost analysis
  • Working knowledge of the Federal and State Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team oriented environment
  • Process information from multiple sources to achieve a successful outcome
  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management or MBA.
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. More than two years of related experience.
