GDIT is looking for a Senior Director, Business Solutions (IT Enterprise Applications and Data Services) to join our Dynamic Team.



The IT Enterprise Application and Data Services Senior Director is responsible for the successful delivery of IT Enterprise Programs and Operations that provide end users with IT services that meet or exceed SLA’s/OLA’s; ensure that IT is delivering cost-competitive services that have the features and functions the customers need; supports the business in the formulation of strategic roadmaps and the management of the delivery lifecycle with the support of IT Operations staff.


Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the end-to-end IT Enterprise Application and Data Services delivery to consumers/stakeholders/end users.
  • Support service delivery strategic-planning process for his or her services and the alignment of technology and product roadmaps.
  • Engage in the external benchmarking activities and communicate with IT architecture related to his or her service to understand where their products or services are heading in the general technology environment.
  • Develop effective relationships with all business program teams on all levels and become a trusted partner/advisor through dependable delivery and business contributions.
  • Maintain engagement with customers and IT operational groups to determine what customers need in terms of IT technology related to their respective service.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to successfully deliver IT programs to projects in accordance with scope, quality, budgetary and time targets.
  • Ensure IT solutions comply with technology and data standards and fit within the overall IT Enterprise architecture.
  • Enable application and data services rationalization and simplification through identification of opportunities to leverage systems and investments across functional business areas and divisions.
  • Provide clear and up to date reports on the implications, risks and resource requirements for fulfilling agreed program plans according to agreed scope, budget, quality and timelines.
  • Ensure deviations from plans are brought to the early attention of management and corrective action is taken.
  • Oversee the activities of direct reports to ensure a high performing, well-motivated and developed team which delivers required results.




  • Experience successfully leading large, complex projects and/or in business/IT consulting/management roles.
  • Must possess the qualities, business acumen, experience, and discipline to ensure business and systems architecture alignment.
  • Experience with business and systems analysis and design methodologies and tools, and experience with large and complex systems.
  • Experience with business design and modeling including: conducting workshops and interviews, and logical and physical modeling.
  • Understanding of standard project methodologies regarding project initiation, current state analysis, future state design, implementation and project transition/close.
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, relationship management and negotiation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Work hours may include meetings schedule outside of normal working hours. Demands during peak times may require work hours outside of normal working hours. Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to travel, and conduct multi-time zone meetings outside of local business hours (as appropriate).
  • Must be able to brief and engage at the executive level of the organization.

Additional Experience Required


  • Experience participating in cyber security audits related to NIST 800-53 controls.
  • Expert knowledge of both information technology and business.
  • Awareness of current information technology products, services, and solutions.
  • Knowledge in managing a distributed customer support model with 100+ employees and 30,000 customers.
  • Effective management and strong communication skills.
  • 12-15 years of directly related information system experience, including management experience.
  • Must we willing to participate in BYOD; for after hours communication and access to mobile corporate applications (i.e., email).
  • This position will be located out of the Chantilly, VA facility with minimum telework options based on approval of manager.

 Education/Equivalent Training Preferred


  • Experience with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure services.
  • Experience with Data Services to include: Enterprise Service Buss, AWS RDS, SQL and Oracle RDBMS.
  • Experience to manage IT Operations Budget and building zero based budgets.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

12-15 years of related information systems experience, including management experience
