ASSOCIATE SPECIALIST, HSE

Under direct supervision, performs routine assignments as an entry level professional. Develops core job competencies with existing procedures by solving standard problems.

This position is located at a client site in Mt. Vernon, IN. No per diem will be offered **.

RESPONSIBILITIES**

  • Implements health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines for the employee and department safety.
  • Creates incident reports and performs inspections to ensure conformity in all areas of HSE.
  • Interacts with services personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to research and interpret standards, codes and regulations.
  • Determines requisite for and organizes audits of company operated properties.
  • Keeps informed of regulatory requirements and auditing standards.
  • Assists in development and implementation of systems and standards to facilitate the capturing and analysis of HSE statistics.
  • Implements and conducts project safety orientation to employees on site

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree in related field, to include Construction Management and/or HSE, preferred
  • Minimum 2 years field safety experience
  • Minimum of OSHA30 training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization skills and ability to function within a project team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is located at a plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes
  • Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
  • Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc
  • Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs
  • May require walking the plant property
