SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the National Security Customer Group (NSCG) in our Chantilly, VA office. NSCG provides specialized engineering, analysis, and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground.
The NSCG has an opening for an engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to an IC research and development (R&D) customer. The customer is developing the generation after next hardware, software, and architectural solutions for the IC. Specifically, the mission is to act as a front-end technology broker accelerating the introduction of cutting edge technologies into the IC to protect and preserve national security via early access to market insights and novel technologies. The Engineer will participate in small teams and be responsible for support to all related activities for the customer.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Facilitate collaboration and systems engineering across a diverse industry and government team to include small commercial startup companies new to the space market
Provide situational awareness of the technology landscape to the customer organization and develop an understanding of their technology needs/gaps
Identify and match emerging and “ready-soon” technologies to customer mission area technology needs/gaps
Assist in establishing technology prototypes, pilots, and operational trials demonstrating capabilities and/or interoperability
Develop documentation and briefings to communicate program status and brief customer as required
Provide acquisition support to include programmatics and source selection efforts as needed
Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline
5 years of experience with USG R&D acquisition lifecycle, processes, and documentation
Experience with budget planning, spend plan development, and fiscal execution
