Safety Panel Engineer - Military veterans preferred

SAIC is looking to hire an International Space Station Safety Panel Engineer to support NASA in Houston, TX. 


In this role you will perform System Safety Engineering assessments and analyses of Space Station Systems and Payloads flown on Soyuz, Progress, US Commercial or International Partner (IP) vehicles in order to:

1) Identify and quantify risk;
2) Assure compliance with NASA safety requirements;
3) Provide detailed reports and recommendations for mitigation strategies;
4) Prepare and present technical presentations;
5) Participate in Safety Panel Reviews
6) Review flight documents, operational scenarios, and subsequent changes for safety impact;
7) Participate in associated meetings,
8) Provide real-time and post-flight engineering support for flight anomaly investigations;
9) Work with customers - NASA, Space Station Contractors, International Partners and Payload Providers.


Required Education and Experience :  

  • Must have a BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace ONLY)
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience
  • Must have excellent oral and above average written communications skills;
  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships with customers, peers, and management;
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to travel (~10%)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a NASA background investigation
