The Melbourne transport team has a variety of immediate secured work and future opportunities in the pipeline including North Western Program Alliance work packages, Western Roads Upgrade, Inland Rail, future M80 Ring Road Upgrades, Melbourne Airport Rail Link and other large road and rail projects.

With several projects currently being delivered and to position ourselves for future opportunities, KBR require a Senior Structural Drafter - Bridges to join our established team.

The Opportunity

The Senior Structural Drafter will be responsible for leading the Project team in the development of bridges and other civil structures models. The Senior Structural Engineer manages digital engineering delivery for Projects and mentors other staff to work within the Digital Engineering framework.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepares Structures Models and develops structures geometry using 3D CAD software
  • Interfaces with other disciplines to coordinate the design of structures
  • Uses digital engineering to interface with production drawings from digital models
  • Develops ProjectWise file structures for Projects
  • Leads drafting team to deliver design packages
  • Demonstrates an understanding of client needs and achieving a good level of client satisfaction
  • Undertakes project lead designer roles when required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Insert necessary qualifications and levels of experience

  • Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant qualification
  • High standard of competency in relevant software
  • Strong knowledge of design standards including their basis and application
  • Extensive design experience
  • Solid team supervision experience
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and Client standards and established industry practices
